Definition : Industrial Design, is a design formed by different components of peculiarities of the adorn on a good which are perceived by the human senses such as line, shape, figure, color, texture, material, flexibility. The register protects every kind of designs having new and distinctive quality. The protection period may be extended to 25 years by renewals of 5 years periods Procedure : Before initiating the registration of design, it is necessary to search whether the design could be registered or not. For registration, a design is to be new and distinctive. Design registration procedure starts with preparation of the representation of the design by photos or drawings. Representation of the design is to be clear and be in 8x8cm sizes. Multiple application is possible in Turkey. From the date of filing design application to Turkish Patent Institute, preliminary examination is completed in 2 months and published in official bulletin. From the date of publication, there is 6 months period for opposition of third parties. If there is no opposition, design is accepted and design registration certificate is sent to applicant.
